Assistant State Conservationist (Wetlands HEL Compliance)

This is an interdisciplinary position and you may apply under either the Natural Resource Management job series 401 or Soil Conservation job series 457. Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including time-in-grade restrictions, specialized experience and/or education, as defined below. Time in Grade Requirement:
Current federal employees applying for a promotion opportunity must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirement of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. To qualify at the GS-13 grade level you must have held a GS-12 for at least on year. You must submit a recent SF-50 Notice of Personnel Action to confirm you meet this requirement. Basic Education Requirement for Natural Resource Management job series 401:
Degree:
biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR Combination of education and
Experience:
Courses equivalent to a major, as shown above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. Basic Education Requirement for Soil Conservationist job series 457:
Degree:
soil conservation or related agricultural or natural resource discipline such as agronomy, soil science, forestry, agricultural education, or agricultural engineering. The study must have included 30 semester hours in a natural resource or agricultural field, including at least 12 semester hours in a combination of soils and crops or plant science. Of the 12 semester hours, a minimum of 3 semester hours must have been in soils and 3 semester hours in crops or plant science; OR Combination of Education and
Experience:
At least 30 semester hours in one or more of the disciplines as shown above, including at least 12 semester hours in a combination of soils and crops or plant science, plus appropriate experience or additional education comparable to a 4 year degree. Of the 12 semester hours, a minimum of 3 semester hours must have been in soils and 3 semester hours in crops or plant science. In addition to meeting the Basic Requirements listed above, applicants must meet the following Minimum Qualifications Requirement to be considered:
Specialized
Experience:
To qualify for the GS-13 grade level, you must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the Federal GS-12 level or higher, or comparable experience not gained through federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. For this position, examples of specialized experience include:
Devising and implementing soil conservation plans and resource development projects; Implementing conservation programs; Evaluating funding eligibility, funding procedures and contract management in accordance with established guidelines; Working with business plans, addressing priorities, goals and objectives; and serving as liaison with individuals, groups, Federal, State and local governments. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
