This company has a position for you to exercise and stretch your current municipal water system and wastewater collection and treatment design capabilities as a Municipal Project Engineer in our Champaign, IL office. Our clients problems are common (feasibility studies, wastewater collection and treatment system design; potable water source, distribution and storage design, roadways, etc.); however, our approach is uncommon (new technology, sustainable design, long term relationships beyond the RFP, etc.) This person will have an opportunity to work on a wide variety of municipal water and wastewater projects. You will be part of a close knit team backed by the resources of a fourteen office regional firm.

Responsibilities:
Serve as project manager and maintain client communications.
Act as client liaison which includes: meeting with clients to define scope of work, prepare engineering agreements and contracts, represent the company at public meetings, and attend project meetings.
Build the professional practice of the firm and enhance its reputation with clients, the public, and the profession.
Assist with business development and marketing and represent the company at interviews, meetings, etc.
Coordinate work with other disciplines.
Recognize and manage project priorities.
Oversee permitting and regulatory requirements for different agencies.
Oversee development of design criteria, calculations, and documentation.
Oversee construction administration including coordination with contractors and inspectors, requests for information, site observations, pay applications, and submittal reviews.
Prepare and review studies, reports, and cost estimates.
Prepare, review, and modify plans and specifications for municipal engineering projects.
Maintain knowledge of developing and current technology and practices related to the engineering profession.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering required
Solid written and verbal communication skills required
Illinois Licensed Professional Engineer required
Iowa Licensed Professional Engineer preferred
The ideal candidate will have 5 or more years of municipal water and wastewater experience including project and client management experience
Experience and developing expertise in the following areas:
Design of water supply infrastructure including water distribution systems, wells, ground and elevated storage tanks, pumping facilities, and treatment facilities.
Design of wastewater treatment infrastructure including collection systems, lagoons, mechanical treatment facilities, lift stations, and disinfection.
Urban/Rural streets, paving, and utilities.
Erosion control and grading.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
