DUTIES: Work on developing the next generation Hadoop software. Test and validate highly scalable and robust next generation Hadoop support tools. Work on one or more components of the Hadoop ecosystem including the Grid Data Management tools used for data management on the Yahoo grids. Perform API testing, integration testing, and system level testing. Participate in system design, development, review, and implementation of test plans. Contribute to the extension of test frameworks and development of test tools to enable automated test and deployment. Submit, regress, and verify defects. Conduct white box and grey box testing. Design and create automation test cases to perform data validation, load testing, and system integration. Perform root cause analysis to identify problems in design and/or implementation.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field, and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered, or software engineering related occupation.
EXPERIENCE/COURSEWORK MUST INCLUDE:
Education or experience must include:
- Development of distributed, low cost, highly scalable, and highly available server systems in Java on Unix
- Algorithms and data structures
- Test automation and continuous integration processes
- Unix/Linux including command line usage, shell scripting, and environment control
- Coding with TestNG/JUnit
- Java concurrency around Multi-threaded/Multi-process and IPC mechanisms
