Summary:
Management Business Solutions (MBS) is seeking a Materials Manager for a manufacturing client in Champaign, IL. This individual will be responsible for supplier management, procurement, material handling, and the successful completion of SAP roll-out.
Responsibilities:
Manage successful transition to SAP, identifying training gaps and reports needed for efficient execution of functional responsibilities
Supplier evaluation and development, including metrics
Track, report, and process quality performance issues for all suppliers, eliminating supplier-related quality issues for all materials
Eliminate line downtime due to material availability issues
Manage purchase orders
Coordinate receipt and movement with the third party warehouse as needed
Work with internal and external freight resources to ensure timely deliveries of inbound materials at competitive rates
Provide support to the Purchasing Coordinator
Follow and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and company policies
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in business or equivalent combination of education and experience in procurement and/or supply chain required
7 to 10 years of experience in procurement required
Proficiency in SAP required
Experience negotiating, preparing, and administering vendor agreement and contracts required
Experience with sourcing initiatives, cost reduction, and improving purchasing and supplier service levels required
CPM, CPIM, or APICS certification a plus
